It’s time for another round up of my favorite reads! This month I read a couple of really good books, and I’m also highlighting some old favorites!
Live Fearless by Sadie Robertson
Sadie Robertson is quickly becoming one of my favorite people on the planet and I don’t even know her personally. Her heart shines through in everything she does and if you’re familiar with her Instagram account at all, you know her bubbly personality is contagious! She just released her book Live Fearless this month and I ordered it right away. It. Was. So. Good. Sadie walks you through her journey of conquering crippling fears and she prompts you with questions to get to the core of your own fears and conquer them, too. It was such an inspiring read and I’m a little sad I finished it so soon!
For the Love by Jen Hatmaker
I could not stop laughing through this read! One of my friends lent it to me to read and I’m so glad that she did. Jen Hatmaker could be a comedian, honestly. In For the Love, she covers a variety of topics relating to Christianity and the church, making you think while simultaneously making you laugh the whole way through. Highly recommend! If you are a mom, you will especially love this book.
Bed Rest by Sarah Bilston
This is a book I read a few years ago, but still one of my favorites. It tells the story of an expectant mom who is placed on bed rest for the majority of her pregnancy. When you’re on bed rest, there’s little that you can do, so you read about how she occupies her time and the thoughts that come to her mind during the experience. Bed Rest is an enlightening and engaging book that held my attention the whole way through. Great read!
Mindset by Carol S. Dweck
This is more on the philosophical side and it took me a long time to read, but I would still recommend it! Dweck breaks down the differences between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset. Everyone leans more to one mindset than the other, but anyone can adapt a growth mindset if they’re persistent about it. I learned so much reading Mindset and it definitely made a difference in the way I perceived situations. In a good way!
#Girlboss by Sophia Amuroso
I read #Girlboss a few years ago when I was becoming serious about pursuing wedding photography. It helped me so much to see things from a business point of view! Sophia Amuroso tells the story of how she started her company, Nasty Gals, and what she learned along the way. I wrote down notes anytime I read something interesting and still have them to look back on! There is some explicit language used in the book though, just so you are aware. But other than that, it’s such an enlightening read and I’d recommend it for any entrepreneur!
What books have you read this month? I’d love to hear about them! I’m always looking for more reads to add to my list. If you read any of these books, share a photo on Instagram and use #JoellesReads so that I can see!
