Last week I hosted my very first photography workshop and, wow, it was incredible. Four girls came from as far as New Jersey (!!) to learn more about growing their photography businesses and we all had such a fun time! We stayed at the cutest little airbnb in Sawyer, MI and enjoyed three days of learning, photographing, and laughing our butts off together. It was more beautiful than I ever hoped and dreamed of it being.
We began the workshop talking about posing – tips for making your clients feel comfortable from before the time they arrive to your session, and some of my favorite poses & prompts for naturally candid images! Then we went to the beach where we put these tips into action.
The next day we talked about branding, marketing, client experience, and editing! We photographed another couple’s session at the airbnb where we were staying and had too much fun with this one!
Each girl received a one-on-one coaching session with me where we covered each of their personal goals and talked about what they need to do to help those goals become a reality.
Then, we ended the night with a trip to St. Joe where we enjoyed good food at The Buck and some fudge from Kilwins!
On our last day together we talked all about workflow tools to create efficiency and we covered how to price yourself. We enjoyed coffee from Infusco coffee (we went there every single day, who can blame us?), photographed our last styled shoot (which was AMAZING) at Journeyman Distillery, and ended the day with headshots on the beach. We couldn’t help but linger while the sun was setting, it was so peaceful.
